There is no coffee in this cocktail. Its deceptive name is undoubtedly attributable to its appearance. This drink first appeared in the third edition of Jerry Thomas’ book (1887). Cocktail to be enjoyed after dinner.
Ingredients
| Merlet Brothers Blend Cognac | 40 ml - 2 oz |
| Porto | 20 ml - 1 oz |
| Egg | 1 |
| Simple sugar syrup | 10 ml - ½ oz |
| * works with Merlet VSOP Cognac or Merlet VS Cognac |
Method
Pour all ingredients in a shaker with ice cubes. Shake and strain in a champagne flute. Garnish with grated nutmeg.
