Attributed to Harry MacElhone, a Paris-based bartender, in the 1930s. This cocktail is a twist of the Sidecar. It is quite rare to find a cocktail calling for 2 different base spirits. The result is light, tangy, and the cognac brings a lot to the plate.
Ingredients
| Merlet Brothers Blend Cognac | 20 ml - 1 oz |
| Merlet Trois Citrus, triple sec liqueur | 20 ml - 1oz |
| 3 years Rum** | 20 ml - 1 oz |
| Lemon juice | 20 ml - 1 oz |
| * works with Merlet VSOP Cognac or Merlet VS Cognac | |
| ** Havana Rum is suggested |
Method
Pour all ingredients in a shaker with ice cubes. Shake and strain into a large cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon zest.
